Zuma Fact: #199: Ladybird beetles (Coccinellidae)!

A number of spots on the wing covers of red or yellow ladybird beetles (Coccinellidae) do not indicate the age of this insects, but a species.

Naturalists say that only in Europe there are about 70 known species of these insects, which have from 2 to 24 spots.  About 5.000 of them are found worldwide.
