Zuma Fact: #202: Three Mile Island!

Three Mile Island is just two and a half miles long. It is so named because it is located three miles downriver from Middletown, Pennsylvania.

It is known for its civilian nuclear power plant (Nuclear Generating Station - TMI) and an accident involving core meltdown in Unit 2 of the Nuclear Generating Station that occurred in 1979.
