Zuma Fact: #67: Clepsydra and Public Speeches in Ancient Athens!

 
 
During public speeches in ancient Athens, time of speakers was limited and measured with clepsydra - a water clock. When the last drop of water poured out of clepsydra, the speaker was no longer allowed to utter a single word.
